STEPS TO ENROLL

At ESM, our enrollment process is simple and direct.

Get to know us.

The enrollment process starts with a visit. Each January and February, ESM hosts Kindergarten Information and Enrollment Sessions and Preschool Information and Enrollment Sessions in which you can learn how ESM might serve you in choosing the best educational options for your family. For prospective transfer students, you are welcome to call anytime and schedule a personal tour, arrange a classroom visit, or just sit down to discuss any questions you may have about ESM. You can do this by calling the school office at (260) 422-6712 or by completing the Request Information – Schedule a Visit form. You will be connected with Erin Clark, Director of Admissions, to help guide you through the process.

Steps to Enroll a Preschool Student

Visit our ESM Preschool page to learn more about our programs and steps to enroll.

Dates and details.

Priority enrollment runs from January 9, 2024 - February 22, 2024. Priority enrollment is available for current ESM families and families that are members of Emmanuel and St. Michael congregations. Have a prospective Kindergarten student? Come to our Kindergarten Information and Enrollment Session to learn more about ESM and begin the enrollment process!

New families that have had their campus visit, will be welcome to complete the application steps prior to March 1st, but applications for new students will be considered starting on March 1st. Preference in enrollment will be given in the order specified in the ESM Enrollment Policy, regardless of date submitted prior to March 1st. Don’t delay in coming to visit and begin the application process; some classrooms do reach capacity!

All children entering kindergarten must be five by August 1 of the current school year. Kindergarten Screenings will be scheduled by appointment on April 25 and May 1. This allows our professional staff the opportunity to get to know your child and make the best decisions regarding class placement for the upcoming year.

Applied. Accepted. Now What?

Apply for scholarships and financial assistance. Once you have submitted your student scholarship application and all required documents, you will be contacted by our finance manager, with your scholarship award information. Scholarship awards are determined in May and then on an ongoing basis up until school begins in August.

Complete your required Health and Physical Forms prior to the start of school.

During the summer, our teachers schedule meet and greets with each student in their incoming class. You will also receive a packet that is to be completed and returned on registration days. Registration is hosted over two consecutive days in August, prior to the start of school. This usually takes an hour or less and is a chance to gather what you'll need for the upcoming school year -- from schedules and gym uniforms to signing up for volunteer opportunities and extended care. At this time, you'll also be asked to make arrangements for tuition payments.

We welcome students on the first day of school and welcome parents to Back to School night to learn more about their child’s classroom environment. Check back as those dates are scheduled!

Welcome to the Emmanuel - St. Michael Lutheran School Family!
