Scholarships

We believe every family should be able to afford a Christian education for their child. Despite the fact that the cost of education continues to climb steeply, the support and commitment of our two church congregations helps us provide excellent academic programming at a cost that is still within reach.

For those who need some extra financial help, various forms of financial aid and scholarships are available.  If you believe that you may benefit from a scholarship, please complete the Scholarship Application that is available for download below. By completing the Scholarship Application, you can help us identify the best opportunity for your child.

How to Apply for Scholarships

The scholarship application is available in a variety of ways. It can be downloaded from the documents below OR downloaded from the Sycamore admissions portal OR you can pick up a copy in either school office. Once completed, you can return the scholarship application AND a copy of your Federal Form 1040. Completed scholarship applications are due April 15th for priority consideration. Following the priority deadline, applications will be considered based on the remaining funds available. Application for scholarships is separate from the online enrollment process. Only families that have completed the online enrollment application, have paid the $100 family application fee, and have been accepted to Emmanuel-St. Michael Lutheran School will be considered.

Indiana School Choice and Scholarship Granting Organizations

ESM participates in the Indiana School Choice Scholarship program and eligible students may receive full or partial state funded scholarships to apply towards tuition costs that would otherwise be due. We also are able to offer tax-credit scholarships through the Lutheran Scholarship Granting Organization of Indiana.  New in 2024 - SGO scholarships are now available to children enrolled in Preschool (age 4 by August 1st), if you meet the income guidelines based on household size according to the chart above. While School Choice is not available until Kindergarten, it is helpful as you make long term plans to consider ESM your child's school for Kindergarten-8th grade. You can review the eligibility guidelines for both programs to check opportunities that may be available to your family online by exploring the ESM Scholarships page.
