No. While a majority of our students come from either Emmanuel or St. Michael churches, we also have many other students of different denominations and religions within our school family. Regardless of where you attend church, we view students' parents as sharing in the task to "Train up a child in the way he should go, so when he is old, he will not turn from it" (Proverb 22: 5-7). As part of this God-given responsibility, we will provide excellent Biblical instruction from highly qualified teachers and work to form partnerships with parents to see that the faith is nurtured in every environment.

Emmanuel –St. Michael is accredited by both the National Lutheran School’s Accredition’s rigorous standards and the State of Indiana. Our students in grades three through eight take the ISTEP battery of tests annually. While it is difficult to get a full picture of the quality of a school’s academic program from only one form of measurement, we are proud of our students ISTEP record. In the ISTEP testing from fall 2008 over 91% of our students passed the mathematics portion of the tests. Nearly 93% of students passed the English/language arts portion. Those high results are consistent with our history.
Not every growth standard we pursue can be measured by a set of tests. Only through observation and time spent with our students can you learn of the quality citizens and Christian leaders they are becoming.

Grades 3 and 4 share a team of three teachers, along with a full-time teaching assistant to help students make the transition to a larger classroom.
Average class size for grades 3 through 8 is 25 students. Students also may use two Resource Room teachers who offer more specialized teaching to develop specific skills.
