Enrollment

At ESM, our enrollment process is simple and direct.

Get to know us.
In January and February we hold two meetings for prospective kindergartners and their parents.  You're welcome to attend either meeting to gather information, meet teachers and parents and get to know ESM on a more personal level.  On Sunday, February 21, we will also host a school-wide open house.  Of course, you are welcome to call anytime and schedule a personal tour, arrange a classroom visit or just sit down to discuss your questions.

Dates and details.
For kindergarten and returning students, enrollment runs from mid-January to mid-February.  New students in grades 1 through 8 are officially able to register beginning Monday, March 29, 2010.  However, if a classroom has not yet reached capacity with returning students, we may be able to accept your registration before then.  Children who transfer from another school may be asked to take a performance evaluation.  We'll also need copies of their latest report card and birth certificate.

All children entering kindergarten, must be five by August 1 of the current school year.  We routinely screen children with summer birthdays just to be certain they are ready.  Not sure about your child's readiness?  Just request a screening and we'll be happy to offer an evaluation and help you make the best decision for your child.

Everyone is welcome.
As we enroll students, Emmanuel-St. Michael Lutheran School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin or disability.  We always place students based upon their previous academic performance, social maturity and patterns of behavior in the most appropriate educational setting.  Financial assistance is also available for families who need extra help.
