"The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the Lord." 2 Chronicles 5:13
Students have a wide variety of exposure to arts and music both as a scheduled part of the curriculum's fine arts period and as an extra-curricular choice.
Depending on their age, students participate in one of three different choirs that teach a variety of music skills from basic music theory and performance to being able to show emotion and feeling through song. They learn to work as a team and use their best abilities to praise God.
Students are introduced to basic instrucments in general music class. In fourth-through eighth grade, they may learn the band instrument of their choice and participate in a joint Lutheran schools coordinated band program with scheduled performances at Concordia High School.
Selected students also participate in Chorfest -- a joint choir program with Concordia High School. Music and art students also participate at the state-wide ISSMA and local Fort Wayne Area Lutheran Schools Arts Festival.
Outside of class, interested students are encouraged to use their indivdiual abilities in worship services at both Emmanuel and St. Michael churches whenever there is an opportunity for speical music.
