ENROLLMENT

No child will be refused admission to the school on the basis of race, national origin, sex, or color. The school's program of Christian education is offered to any who want a quality Christian education.

Re-enrollment forms will be sent to existing Emmanuel-St. Michael Lutheran School families during the first week of March 2007. A $150.00 registration deposit (per family) is due by April 18, 2007, and the balance is due at our August registration.

Families new to Emmanuel-St. Michael for the 2007-2008 school year need to complete an application (see above link). This application is merely a statement of intent, Enrollment is not complete until applicant has been accepted for placement. An application fee of $150.00 must accompany this application and is non-refundable unless the applicant cannot be placed or if the applicant moves from the area.

** The above fees include the application fee of $150.00 per family due at the time the application or re-enrollment form is turned in. Rates also include all textbook, workbook, and supplies provided by the school. A $25.00 PTL fee is charged at the time of registration in August.

Kindergarten Round-Up

Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2007-2008 school year will be on January 31, 2008 or February 22, 2008. Both meetings will be held at the Getz Road Campus from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. Students will spend time with the kindergarten teachers while parents are given pertinent kindergarten information. We encourage all families with kindergarten age children to attend one of these meetings.

We offer two options for Kindergarten placement:

  • Full day Kindergarten is from 8:35 am - 3:05 pm

  • 2/3 day Kindergarten is from 8:35 am - 12:30 pm

Age requirements:

  • Must be 5 on or before August 31

  • Screenings will be held for those students with birthdays after July 1.

ENROLLMENT Policies

Before a student may be admitted to class:

  • Parent(s) meet with the Principal. Please bring a copy of your child's current report card and a report card from previous grade to this initial interview.

  • All necessary forms are completed and signed and fees are paid

  • Immunizations are up-to-date and medical/emergency records complete.

  • Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by August 31.

  • All students undergo a screening process.

  • Kindergarten: teacher recommendation, informal screening interview

  • Grade 1- 8: previous grades, standardized test scores

  • New students in grades 3 - 8 will not be enrolled after the 20th day of the new school year unless the family is relocating into the area.

  • New students in Kindergarten - grade 2 will not be accepted enrolled after the 1st marking period unless the family is relocating into the area.

FINANCIAL AID  

Financial assistance is available and awarded on the basis of financial need. Parent's financial statement from the Private School Aid Service (PSAS) is used as a basis for the determination of need. Please contact the school office for forms, details and deadlines.
